According to the National Association of Foreign Student Advisers (NAFSA), high schools students who have studied abroad are better able to work with people from other countries, understand the complexity of global issues, and develop a greater capability of intercultural learning.

                    "Having
studied abroad a few times during high school,
I can testify that studying in a different country,
living and observing a foreign culture, and learning
a new language allows you to gain self-confidence
and awareness. Whether you are considering spending
a summer, semester, or year overseas, the study
                    abroad experience provides ample opportunities
for you to take risks, try new things (ranging
from food to social situations), and leave your
comfort zone. It is not always easy and can be
downright frustrating, but ultimately the experience
is very rewarding as it eases the transition from
adolescence to adulthood, enabling you to develop
communication and problem-solving skills and to
mature both intellectually and emotionally." — Connie

We travel like locals, live with families, apprentice with artists, and learn from scholars, sages, and community leaders. Summer School Programs for High School Students

The exclusive ISSOS summer school program offers high school students (aged 13-18) the opportunity to combine learning and action-packed adventure in one of three amazing and historic university towns of St Andrews, Cambridge and Yale. Our three-week program welcomes students from over 80 nationalities, and limits the number of students from any nationality to 10% in order to guarantee a truly international experience. Students choose one academic class and one elective class that they follow for their three-week residential stay, and native and non-native English speakers are mixed at all times.

ISSOS also offers online programmes specifically designed to equip students with skills that will be essential as they prepare for university study
