Biography of Jean-Marc Hachey

Jean-Marc Hachey is a leading authority on international careers. A best-selling writer, he has shared his international employment strategies with thousands as the host of MyWorldAbroad and as an international careers editor and columnist for Transitions Abroad.

Hachey speaks from experience: he has worked overseas for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, World University Service of Canada, Canadian Crossroads International, and the German Volunteer Service. Fluent in French and English, Hachey has a BBA from the University of New Brunswick and an MA in Political Science from l’Université Laval in Québec city.

Since 1990, he has been mentoring students, recent graduates, and others interested in pursuing opportunities abroad. Hachey has also consulted on international job skills to the Canadian International Development Agency, the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, NAFSA and numerous NGOs and universities.
